WHO Collaborating Centre for Emergency and Trauma Care, JPN Apex Trauma Centre, AIIMS, New Delhi in collaboration with State Road Safety Cell, Department of Transport and Road Safety, Government of Rajasthan has developed a BLS Manual titled First Aid in Emergency Situations.
It is a bi-lingual manual wherein content has been provided in English and Hindi languages. It is a multi-coloured booklet wherein various emergency situations and its related first aid has been described as a separate chapter. The content is equipped with multiple creatives and is also supported with short videos (using QR codes) wherever a procedure is required to be explained.
For easy understanding and categorization of different types of emergencies, different legends have been used which include Time Sensitive Emergency, Life Threatening Emergency, Medical Emergency, Trauma Emergency, Environmental Emergency and so on. At the end of each chapter Multiple Choice Questions have been provided so that the reader could be able to assess his / her understanding about the topic. Answer key for Multiple-Choice Questions has been annexed at the end of the manual.
The manual has been developed at par standards such that it may be utilized PAN India for disseminating essential knowledge on First Aid and could be used as an essential resource for all sorts First Aid Training and ToT Programs.
